Lady Gaga Announces She's Performing at the 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show

The countdown to the Super Bowl is on.
Sure, we have no idea what teams will be playing at NRG Stadium in Houston. Heck, we don't even know which football organizations are going to make it to the playoffs.
Lady Gaga will be performing at the Super Bowl halftime show when February 5, 2017 hits our calendars.
The "Perfect Illusion" singer posted the announcement on Instagram, writing, "It's not an illusion. The rumors are true. This year the SUPER BOWL goes GAGA."

The news comes after reports surfaced that the NFL was very interested in the pop superstar. One of the many reasons why was because of her acclaimed performance of the National Anthem at last year's Super Bowl.

This past February, the Mother Monster blew viewers away when she sang the song live. And as an added bonus, the singer admitted that performing at the Super Bowl was a "dream come true."
"I've always wanted to sing the National Anthem at a major sporting event since I was a little girl, and for it to be the Super Bowl, it is the ultimate," she told NFL.com "This is one of the highest honors of my career."
Performers at previous Super Bowl Halftime Shows have included Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Prince, Madonna and the Black Eyed Peas.

And while rumors surfaced that Adele could be a possible performer for next year's show, the "Hello" singer shut any speculation down when she revealed at a Los Angeles concert that was "not doing" the event.
As for what Lady Gaga will do during her time on stage, your guess is as good as ours. But between her old favorites including "Just Dance" to her latest single titled "Perfect Illusion," there's lots of great material to work with
